Kia Forte and Kia Stinger are Canada’s Best Small Car and Best Large Car for 2019

Montreal, QC – January 17, 2019 – At a presentation today in Montreal, the Kia Forte has been named Best Small Car in Canada for 2019 and the Kia Stinger has been named Best Large Car in Canada for 2019, winning their respective categories as part of the judging for AJAC’s Canadian Car of the Year and Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year and qualifying them both for the overall awards to be named in February.

Bringing home both mainstream car awards is a huge accomplishment for the brand and a testament to the award-winning design and quality investments that Kia has, and continues to put into its entire lineup of vehicles. For Canadians that have not yet considered a Kia, the awards are yet another reason to look at the brand with the ‘Power to Surprise.’ Both vehicles will be on display at this year’s Canadian auto shows and are currently available in dealerships across the country.

“We’re grateful to all of AJAC’s voting journalists for recognizing the Forte and Stinger as the best cars in their categories” said Michael Kopke, Director of Marketing, Kia Canada. “Kia is focused on bringing safe, high-quality vehicles that look great and fit the lives of Canadians so it is a wonderful honour to see that so that many of Canada’s top automotive experts believe that our cars are hitting the target above some great competition in the market.”

Winning their respective categories also means that both the Kia Forte and Kia Stinger are two of five contenders for the AJAC Canadian Car of the Year award that will be presented at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto on February 14.

“It’s a great achievement for a vehicle to win one of AJAC’s coveted Canadian Car of the Year awards, but it’s exceptional for the same automaker to make two award-winning vehicles in the same year,” said Mark Richardson, President, Automobile Journalists Association of Canada. “Congratulations to Kia for the well-deserved success of the Stinger and Forte.”

Exploring The 2018 Kia Forte

There are a lot of vehicles to choose from here at World Cars Kia, but we’d hate for you to miss out on one of the best. The 2018 Kia Forte is a little car that packs a big punch despite its smaller size. Besides, it’s got a smaller price tag to match and you can’t argue with that. Aside from the relatively low cost, the Forte can be a great choice for many reasons, including those below.

Above and Beyond Its Competitors

Compact SUVs are growing in popularity year by year, but despite that, cars like the Kia Forte and Forte5 hatchback are also great choices for many other reasons. The Kia Forte is taking the lead in handling and performance ratings as well as safety reviews. Part of the reason for this may be because of its low price and some of the features that are not available on similar competitors, such as vented front seats, and CarPlay by Apple and Android Auto.

Fuel Efficient

Forte offers 3 different 4-cylinder options. The two sedan trims carry 147 horsepower and with the 6-speed manual transmission, you’re likely to get 25 miles per gallon in the city and upwards of 34 miles per gallon highway miles. Other models get up to 201 horsepower. Regardless of the trim you choose, you’re likely to enjoy much better gas mileage than you are likely to get in similar makes and models.

Many Different Options

Whatever your budget and your needs, there is likely a Forte available for you. There are two hatchback trims available and two sedan trims available. As mentioned above, there are 3 different trim options of the Forte that you can choose from. In terms of fuel efficiency, horsepower, and standard features, the Forte is a flexible vehicle depending on what you want to spend and what features you’re looking for.

One of the things many of our customers enjoy about the 2018 Kia Forte is that it has a long list of standard features that you just won’t find in most other cars at the same price point. The standard warranty is incredible, and the technology capabilities are unheard of. These are just some of the reasons to consider the Forte for your next vehicle.

How Kia Increases Safety

Although cars continue to get better and better over the years, there still continue to be accidents due to some of the people driving them. This is why safety is becoming more and more important to some people that buy their first cars, to help cut down on some of the mistakes made by human error. If you are ready for a new car, going down to your World Cars Kia may help you find something with a higher safety rating, such as the 2018 Kia Sportage. Here are some of the safety features you may hope to find in these cars.

In addition to having airbags in five different locations, the Sportage contains safety features such as a 4-wheel antilock brake system to help make sure that there is less skidding when the brakes are applied. This may not be anything new, but something that a lot of cars may start to have soon is the autonomous brake assist. This is another way to help make sure that the brakes are applied in a timely manner in case of an emergency, without making the car spin out.

Another interesting feature about the 2018 Kia Sportage is the new integrated turn signal mirrors. Being able to see your blind spots is of the utmost importance when you want to change lanes or make a turn, and in some cars is can be very difficult to check all of your blind spots thoroughly. That is why mirrors and monitors can help to make sure nothing is in your path before you move.

There are many more new safety features that you can find when you look into a new Kia at the dealership, but it basically all boils down to decreasing the likelihood of the driver causing an accident, which could be the start of fewer accidents overall. Visiting your local dealer today to test drive a 2018 Kia Sportage.

Kia Doesn’t Disappoint With the 2018 Kia Rio

One thing auto manufacturer Kia has done over the years is proven it can compete with the older, established companies. Relative new to the auto manufacturing industry, this South Korean automotive giant offers consumers affordable vehicle options that are stylish and fun to drive. The 2018 Kia Rio doesn’t disappoint for those looking to purchase a new car in the New Year. Here’s why.

Solid and Comfortable

When a person hops into the driver’s seat of the new Rio and shuts the door for the first time, he or she will feel the solid build this compact car offers. Whether the driver prefers the sedan or hatchback model, the Rio is built tough and gives a compliant ride for both the driver and his or her passengers. This includes the passengers in the backseat. With spacious seating, especially up front, everyone will be comfortable, and the feel on the road is a driver’s dream. The car handles nicely and is aerodynamic.

Great First Car

For this particular model, Kia didn’t pull out all the stops, but this doesn’t take away from the vehicle’s value and appeal. The Rio is a fantastic car for first-time drivers, as it teaches them crucial driving skills they will use throughout their lives. Its manual transmission is a traditional base trim, and there isn’t any in-car navigation. Learning to drive a stick and read a map are not lost art forms, contrary to popular belief. Among the most anticipated Kia vehicles for the 2018 model year, the all-new Kia Rio definitely stands out.

Making its grand debut at the 2017 New York International Auto Show earlier this year, the all-new Rio sedan is slightly bigger in size than its predecessor, and is certainly sleeker with more balanced ride characteristics.

Considering its enhanced technology and performance along with tremendous value, it is not surprising that the all-new Rio is already gaining widespread attention in the subcompact market.

Today, we would like to introduce the four most outstanding reasons why the new Rio should be on your next-car-to-buy list.

1. Style matters

With a slender tiger-nose grille, crispier lines and swept-back headlights for a more aggressive appearance, the impressive roster of styling details perfectly sum up how captivating the fourth generation Rio really is.

Slightly larger in size over the previous generation, the Rio’s new look is emphasized by the stretched thin and wide tiger nose grille. The vertical side vents and the sporty headlights at the front accentuate its stance, giving it a bolder look.

The horizontal styling of the Rio 5-door hatchback further sends enchanting vibes with its roof seamlessly extending to the rear edge. To add an even sportier touch, the Rio hatchback also offers two-tone leather interior options with improved ergonomics.

2. Perfect fit for urban driving

Ideally suited to urban driving, the new Rio has become decidedly more sophisticated and athletic for driver enjoyment. The little Rio has always been compact enough for urban parking on crowded streets, and so is the redesigned Rio.

For a more engaging driving experience, the latest Rio is equipped with a 130 horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine for the first time, improving the driving dynamics as well as fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions over the outgoing Rio.

Able to deliver exceptional power and torque, the turbocharged Rio is ever-more capable of maneuvering, making a long commute or weekend road trip all the more pleasant.

3. Roomier than it looks

The upgraded Rio comes with a level of comfort and convenience unexpected in a subcompact model. Larger dimensions and wheelbase, combined with a low profile center console on the inside, give it the roomiest cabin in its class.

With the seats folded down, the hatchback offers more cargo space to accommodate luggage, small furniture or weekend gear.

4. Stable and safe

Rio’s solid structure makes use of advanced high-strength steel to increase durability and torsional stiffness for improved handling and ride quality as well as collision protection.

And for the first time the Rio offers optional Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), a system that detects obstacles and automatically applies the brakes to avoid accidents. Standard safety features include six airbags, side-impact door beams, a four-wheel Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC).

“This fourth-generation Rio makes significant improvements over its predecessor in design, technology and passenger comfort, resulting in an even better value proposition, while raising the bar in the small-car segment,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning, Kia Motors America.
